What is a professionally managed course?

Mountain Biking is a sport with multiple inherent risks in a dynamic outdoor setting with great distances, unlike traditional sports such as soccer and hockey, which are in controlled environments. Recognizing this reality, we have developed a response system and team to manage our race courses. This is what we know it takes to safely manage a race course based on 20 years experience taking 15,000 racers through our system and having responded to many serious injuries:

• A course team trained in a system based on 20 years of experience in putting on races.
• A specialized medical team, integrated into the race course team, who are out on course and on the ready with extraction, mobility and communication tools.
• A doctor on call at the festival who works with all the paramedics in the event of an incident.
• Trucks on the ready with spine boards, oxygen, and advanced first aid supplies.

2026 BC Bike Fest Enduro course

What to expect:

STAGE 1: Blue tech trail starting with a tight twisty decent before opening up into flat flowing single track with a few sneaky turns and root sections.

STAGE 2: Downhill tech with rocks, roots, twists and turns before a punchy climb that leads to a tight twisty decent, ending with a short false flat pedal to the stage finish.

STAGE 3: This stage starts out on Upper Double D—the finest flow trail on the Island—to Fluid, another flow trail with some roots and rocks to keep you on your toes. A short flat pedal takes you past the Butcher Block before hitting School’s Out. From there, it’s a smooth, gradual singletrack descent to a rooty finish at Tzouhalem Main.

STAGE 4: Starting on Lower Showtime, you’ll stay right to hit the original Showtime trail, a fast descent leading into M-One and a flat pedal to Lower Double D. From there, you’ll hit Ronnie’s Rockin’ Ride and a hard pedal to Bisection—a fast flowing decent with a couple blind landings, berms, rocks and roots.

STAGE 5: You’ll finish your morning with Bumblebee—smooth, fast, hard-packed singletrack featuring tight berms, step downs, and other small hits. Fast and super fun!
